Hey

Have replaced trusty old SUS with dodgy new WUS. Can anyone work out howto add computers to the groups? Even tho my GPO is set to http:\\servername as stated by the MS doc's the PC's still dont show up :S Also tried manualy editing the Registry of a workstation to point to the server, still no difference. I know the GPO is working cause the system update tab is grayed out. Any Thoughts?

Cheers
Nick

You will need to give the appropriate desktops a target group name. This is so you can deploy certain updates to only a batch of desktops etc.

This can be done by amending the "Enable client side targeting" polciy, in the same adm section as where you state the windowsupdate server.

Then in WUS you will need to create a computer group as above, and then tell configure WUS to use "group policy or registry settings on client computers".

Hope to have helped,

Mike
