I realize this is a trivial task but I can't figure out how to do it. What I have is a db of chemicals and a form that allows you to input a new chemical into the db. Some of the information input is the amount of the chemical on hand. Now I am creating a form that allows me to input, into another table, how much of a chemical we purchase for each separate purchase. What I want is to be able to use a lookup (listbox) so that you can type in the chemical name and it will do an auto-complete, bringing up the chemical name. I then want to be able to enter in the current date (no problem) and the amount purchased (no problem) and then update the amount of that chemical on hand. What I am having trouble with is getting the listbox to search a table to bring up the existing chemical. Also, what is a good online tutorial for all aspects of Access? I'm looking for something that will serve as a good reference for all aspects of Access. It would also be nice if somebody could point me to a good book I could use as a reference as well.
Thanks in advanced!

What you need, I think, is a combobox, not a listbox. The combobox wizard will guide you through creating a combobox that will look up records on your form. Comboboxes are set to autocomplete by default.
Well, Tek-Tips is a pretty good resource :)
Many people mention the Developer's Handbook by Litwin & Getz.
