Update Possible Using MS ODBC text driver

Is it possible to update a file using the MS ODBC text driver?

I ask this because I have an application where it would be appealing to switch DSN's between RDBMS targets and text files without changing the logic.

I have tried this but keep receiving 'function sequence error' when attempting the update - this may be because the operation is not allowed or because I am using it incorrectly.

If youre talking about an SQL update or delete statement it cannot be done.
in the following article:

It says:
This behavior occurs because ODBC drivers do not allow for the SQL statements UPDATE and DELETE.
