Update open pages with new data

Is there anyway that when data gets updated in a table that any pages currently accessing that data can update itself. The only way I know right now is to set up an auto-refresh.
 
The web server is ignorant of what is going on with the browser clients between requests.

Stick with auto-refresh... unless you are working on an intranet where you can force all users to download your custom ActiveX control or java applet... no... i changed my mind again... even if you could force the users to do this it is probably not worth the hassle.

 
yes...auto-refresh is the right option...

http meta refresh (something like that) ;)??
