Have an old Proliant server running Win2k Server and Exchange server. It is the Domain controller for the company, and it is also the Exchange server for the company. Runs Exchange 2000, DHCP, WINS and local domain DNS.

Have a new, empty computer in house to handle the workload. Need to migrate everything down to the server name (preferably but not a requirement) to the new computer and then pull the old one out of the rack.

I know that, were it only a DC, I could simply promote the new server to DC, demote old server and be done with it, but it is ALSO an Exchange server! Exchange 2000 commingles its data into Active Directory entries so we need to handle this more carefully.

Reading the MSDN instructions on this leaves me ready for a couple of fifths of Jack! Can anyone shed any light on what I need to do?

Thanks
John
