Update of Livelink Category

I'm new to Livelink and am looking for some help

We have category information associated with the documents in the database. I want to to do a bulk change to change the value of the 2 category items for all old revision of the documents.

Can anyone help on the best way to do this?

One slow approach will be to be the administrator
go to the categories volume,update the category and click upgrade.This will popup a window and I think it will find the number of items using this category and upgarde it.Depending on the number of items uing this category it may take days,weeks etc.Or if your users will live with it
you can navigate to the object,look at categories,click upgrade and click the options(when clicking the upgrade there I think has three options) click the help for this page when you are there.
Infact this was such a pain so we tweaked our category updates oscript weblingo to do 100 at a time rather than the default 5.If you have other dedicated servers you can do this at your own risk

I want to actually change the value of the attributes. There are about 300,000 to change so it need to be slick
