I have posted a earlier question about my network being booted off. For some reason about every 20 minutes i get disconnected from the internet. I have read all the sugestions in the forum but, could not solve this problem. Here is what i have done. recycled the modem to get a new connection. Someone said my network card might have a poll on it. i have not found it yet. I have a firewall through internet security could this be changed and if so how. I turned off my windows firewall. and rebooted. Could the firewall be causing me to be disconnected. Does anyone know what i'm talking about.

Sometimes upgrading the firmware on the router will solve this.

2 things to check. First off network card has a power option that will shut it off after inactivity. It will say "allow ups to turn this device off to save power". Go to properties of network card, click configure and look under power management.

Another thing to check is sometimes routers have something similar built in, where if theres inactivity for a period of time it will drop the connection, but soon as activity hits again reget it.

Give both of those a shot and let us know if this helps or not.

If you are using wireless, you should be aware that windows checks for a wifi signal every 3 minutes or so. When reception is bad (during a thunderstorm or something) I run the first script. It turns off the automatic searching.
If you don't turn it on, you wil have to manually connect to the wifi, or else reboot.

I have Start.cmd and Stop.cmd as the batch files that run.

It keeps me connected during thunderstorms.

Turn Off:
Code:
net stop wzcsvc

and to restart it:

Turn On:
Code:
net start wzcsvc

I have tried to go to properties for my network card and can not find power supply feature. Electronicsfreak i checked for that option But, only have option for Advanced with options like 802.1g , flow control, checksum values. I can diable/enable these options But, i'm not sure what to do. Does my firewall have anything to do with this problem. Like i said it happens around every 20 minutes.
