I have had to rebuild my epo server as all the registry setting suddenly dissapeared. I restored a 3.0.1 image i had created a day previously just before upgrading to 3.0.2 with patch 4, upgraded to 3.0.2 and then reapplied patch 4. Initially i was getting very higgh CPU problems with the naimserv service but that appears to have settled. What i am getting however is a large number of update failures although when i look in the properties tab for individual client the majority (not all) appear to be running the current dat.

When i spoke to network associates about this i was advised that i should have rebuilt the server from scratch, this i have done before with exactly the same problem.

I have since discovered that in the "c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\network associates\common framework\task" folder, there are one or two ini files similar to

{61C9A075-42C9-4B66-A6E2-90106DBAEFD8}.ini and
{A14CD6FC-3BA8-4703-87BF-E3247CE382F5}.ini

which appears to be referring to tasks created on the old server which was rebuilt after the initial crash. If i delete all the ini files in the Task folder, they are recreated and all is well, however i have over 1000 clients on different sites taking their updates from over 20 repositories. However can i get delete these files from all clients (9x,2000,XP and NT) once only and why on earth would network associates not point this out when asking me to rebuild the server from scratch?
