I just tried to upgrade my PC to V2.1
Following the instructions from AVAVA I did the Windows Add/Remove feature.
This failed to work.

I went further and deleted all the files manually yet I still can not install V2.1

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you have read all the posts concerning V2.1 the best advice would be DONT DO IT
stick with V2.0 untill V2.1 is resolved

Lawdy Lawdy Lawdy how our roles have reversed! :)

What prompted you to become the new prophet of doom IPGuru? *grin*

it may have something to do with the 10 sites that I have that are desperate for working firmware :-(

What are the known issues with 2.1.24? Softphone when using DT sets, PM 2.1.8 still has preferences bug, what else?

From my testing the phantom callers in queue bug is finally gone, and that's a big hallelujah from me!

Peter

Morrack , 2.1 (24) is broken
2.1 (15) is broken
3.0 is broken

2.0(18) acceptable
1.4 (37) good

2.2 and 2.3 Network Alchemy was great until , Lucent bought and Avaya has blessed it with the spaghetti software.

We are using 2.1 (248901) , there are still problems with queing, rebooting when paging ip phones , softconsoles crashing, VCM channels locking up , incoming call routes destination blanking out.

It think spahetti software is a pretty good description.

Network Alchemy was fantastic ,these lot cannot even get a tech bulletin right.

3.0 is not broken, it is Beta sofware & expected to have bugs, if not there would be no point in Beta testing

I just hope that Avaya are learning frrom the 2.1 fiasco & we do not guet another premature release

For 2.1.24 specifically though, from what I can tell if you are using DS phones (not DT) it works fine. I have not had any of the problems reported with it (including PM preferences logging you out of huntgroups, just tried that).

Mind you I have only rolled it out to 2 sites plus my office and lab systems, being very very cautios with it :)

Peter

Thats fine, your problems will start if you use Vmpro 2.1.10

just broke Version 3 all i did was access voicemail and it
re-booted, beta or not still broken.

The only problem I've found with 2.1.10 (IPO 2.1.24 w/ DS phones) is the touch tone digit dialed to end recordings getting captured in the recording and causing problems when played back. Are you running into other issues - and do you have DT phones?

Peter

OK yes , technicaly 3.0 is broke in plases, but then again it is not supposed to be fully working

I dont thisnk the time is right for 3.0 to be being discussed in theis forum, with the posible execption of imparting good news as to what is comming.

My 3.0 test beds are relativly stable, but I havent had time to realy try to break them yet

Most of our customers are running 2.1(24) and VM pro 2.1(10) and DT phones and IP phones and PM Pro and SoftConsole and.... no problems as you mention.
The only thing i am investigating is a stopping License Key server if the IPO is not used for at least 24 hours ( weekend ).
Maybe the problems are locale related?

Ya know, that makes a heck of a lot more sense than being related to DT phones vs DS phones. What locale are running under intrigant? Perhaps some of our esteemed gurus from that dreary little island off the coast of france would care to try running their testbed systems under your locale to see if they have 2.1.24 issues, even with their DT phones. Would be interesting to know.

Peter

Will you guys stop slagging off Eire, it may be a small rainy island of the of France but that's no reason to pick on it.

...and what's wrong with Wales, have the Scots upset you, we're all one happy island, honest.

Soopa Doopa Intergalactic IP Office installation mechanic and configuration corruptor from way back.

I am not even going to think about responding to this one peter, oops I just did

Come on, Grommet, there's no need to fret! Why don't we invent an automatic IP Office installation machine that's capable of forseeing all firmware bugs and therefore avoiding them. That should cheer you up, what do you say??

*grin*

Our systems use the nld locale, thats that tiny undersealevel country at the coast of the northsea.
