hi there,

how safe is it to run the ms service packs updates on outlook exchange 2000?

we are experiencing problems sending emails and exchange gave us the following error message (only sending):

"No transport provider was available for delivery to this recipient."

i checked with the isp and found out that it must have something to do with the exchange on our end. is it a good idea to have run the service packs update? what can go wrong (pls don't say everything)? do i have to reconfigure anything afterwards? does everybody have to log off?

thanks a lot!!!

Best to make sure you backup everything before you apply a service pack. In my experience, I've not had any problems with the service packs.. however, you will need to restart the server after so try and arrange some quiet time... after work or over the weekend to do this.
