Our old website was on free server space so each url was like
This site was fully indexed by Google etc and accounts for around half of all our traffic. We have since moved the site to our own hosting so all urls are now

The old free space is still getting lots of hits, my question is what is the best way to tell the engines to now index our hosted site? The free space is very highly ranked so I do not want to risk our listings by using a simple redirect on all pages.

The freespace is pretty limited and html only, I can`t use 403's etc.

Thanks

just put an otherwise empty page up with a link to the new equivalent pages.

In theory a fast meta refresh (0 - 2 secs) is considered to be a 301 and a 5 - 10 secs refresh as a 302 by the SEs now but I can't say I have tested it as yet.

Chris.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Especialy since the old server space is free, leave a nicely formated simple page with a clear to read link pointing to the new site or resource.
