Update database with (cvs) text file

Hi,

I receive every day a (cvs) text file with records. These records must be inserted and updated in an existing database (old records should remain unchanged). Can someone explain to me or show an example how i can accomplish this?

There are a couple of ways that you can do this.

If you select the option under file for Get External data you can link to the CSV file or you can import so it becomes a new table in Access.

In either case once you have the data you can then set up an Append query to add the new data to your existing table.
