update combobox values without reopening access form

I have a combo box, in a subform whose value list is based on a query. How can I make these values reflect the true result of the query without closing and reopening the main form.

Forms!frmMainForm.subForm.Form.controls("cmbList&quot.requery.
You'll need to change frmMainForm,subForm and cmblist to match yours, but I'm sure it's something similar.
