update activation key

I have 6.1 and need to update my activation key, I can copy tftp flash via terminal server but doesn't give me the option to update my activation code unless I am in monitor mode or have 6.2 and use the new command to do so. I don't have an image of 6.2 or a console cable.

Does anyone know how I can accomplish this or download 6.2 temporarily?

Please let me know if you have any advice...

Your best bet would be to make a console cable and do it that way. If you have a CCO account, you can just download the new image. You don't have to have a smartnet on the pix specifically in order to download the image.

HI.

You should get a console cable, so you won't waist time looking for one if you later have problems at the pix that require console access.

It is the same serial cable bundled with most Cisco routers.
