Update a Toolbar in word 2003

I have created a customised toolbar in word 2003, without using VBA, it is possible to create the toolbar using vba then attach it to multiple word documents that have already been created?

Originally i created a word 2003 template that utilised the toolbar, however now i have updated the butons and the functions on it i would like to update the toolbar that is attached to the documents that were created with earlier versions of the template.

Any ideas?
