How can I update a record in a table that is replicated but not have the record replicated due to the 'type' of update. There is sometimes that we need to update a record but the replication customer does not need an updated record because of it.

cheers

I don't think it is possible to do what you have asked. I wonder why you care. If you are replicating, then all updates should be replicated or the tables will be out of synch.

Think about this. If you could prevent certain updates from replicating, what happens when the same row is updated in a way that you want to be replicated. The previous non-replicated update would then be replicated along with the current update. This would defeat any effort to not replicate specified changes.

If you want to have separate tables, you should create different tables or choose a different method for updating the client tables. Terry L. Broadbent - DBA
