Neil,

Do a keyword search on "Add View" on the Keyword Search tab here.

I need to update a catalog after a new view or table is added to the database,i dont think cognos impromptu gives the new tables views to be selected for the old catalog .

This is Given by Griff..Please follow this , you will get the new views...

Views on any database will not automatically appear in Impromptu. Go to Tools | Options | General and turn off the checkbox for "Retrieve database tables when editing catalog tables". This will cause a new button to appear when in the Catalog | Tables screen that will say "Retrieve Tables". Pressing that button will produce another screen with checkboxes for the types of database objects to retrieve. Make sure that the view checkbox is selected. Your view should then be visible.
