Upadating MAS host on MSS? Cause Problems?

So I had to rebuild a MM3.0 and when I was updating the MAS host information on the MSS and entered one of the lines incorrectly.

I put mas1.company.local but what I should of put was mas1.company.COM. Now the customer cant send SMTP messages out. If I update this information with the correct entry will this cause any problems with the MM?

Thanks Ken. I was at the customers site for 16 hours rebuilding their box and it was 2am by the time I started joining the windows domain and I wasnt thinking straight! =)
