When I try to run up2date I'm getting
Code:
rpmdb: Lock table is out of available locker entries
error: db4 error(22) from db->close: Invalid argument
error: cannot open Packages index using db3 - Cannot allocate memory (12)
error: cannot open Packages database in /var/lib/rpm
An error has occurred:
exceptions.TypeError
See /var/log/up2date for more information
/var/log/up2date shows
Code:
[Fri Oct 19 14:01:00 2007] up2date   File "/usr/sbin/up2date", line 1288, in ?
    sys.exit(main() or 0)
   File "/usr/sbin/up2date", line 681, in main
    ret = sanityChecks(fromDaemon, hasGui)
   File "/usr/sbin/up2date", line 296, in sanityChecks
    if cfg["useGPG"] and gpgUtils.checkGPGInstallation() == 2:
   File "/usr/share/rhn/up2date_client/gpgUtils.py", line 35, in checkGPGInstallation
    if not findKey(redhat_gpg_fingerprint):
   File "/usr/share/rhn/up2date_client/gpgUtils.py", line 79, in findKey
    return rpmUtils.installedHeadersNameVersion("gpg-pubkey", version)
   File "/usr/share/rhn/up2date_client/rpmUtils.py", line 102, in installedHeadersNameVersion
    mi = _ts.dbMatch('Name', pkgName)
which doesn't make any sense to me. What do I do now please?

I'd 86 up2date and install yum if you don't have it aready. It can be set to update everything automagically during the wee hours or just notify you when there are updates available. You can also use it on the command line to update, install or delete packages.
