Unwanted video strobe effect in Director 1

I've imported a video into Director (950k) using the sorenson3 codec. When the timeline is running the video flashs, but as soon as the timeline halts, it plays smoothly.

Has anyone any ideas whats going wrong?

Thanks for that, I'll start searching. further to this though, it seems to be caused by a flash movie import running in the background. Director has some amazing control with multimedia but to be honest its drawing tools leave a lot to be desired, hence the flash import.

That is a known issue. Having flash and QT on the stage doe s have it's problems.
