Came across an interesting problem with a large batch of M3904 phones that were had returned by a customer. (I work for a company that sells refurbished equipment including phones.) The phones were returned as defective, and upon checking them when they came back I found that all of the function keys were non-responsive. After playing around with one for a few minutes I realized that the shift key didn't have the same feel when pressed as the rest, and that it looked a little crooked. After popping it out and pushing it back in straight, the phone worked perfectly. I checked 7 more phones, all with 1 or more keys inserted improperly. We test the phones with their old button caps and then remove them for cleaning, including a new set with the Lit Pak to be installed by the customer. So if anyone comes across any M3903s or M3904s with unresponsive keys, give all the function keys a press and pop them out and re-install. May just save you a replacement phone and a whole lot of troubleshooting. Hope this helps someone someday.
