Unusual Autonumber after Importing From Excel

I have a new database I am testing the import function on. I am importing some data from Excel. In the Access Table there is an Autonumber field. Before I imported the last autonumber was 77. When I imported the records it assigned the first imported record autonumber 453054332; and +1 for each additional record. When I manually add new records it gives me the next sequential large autonumber.

Why is this happening?

Do I have to worry about this autonumber getting too large? It is a brand new database.
