I have a very limited knowledge of VMS but I have an IP Address that exists in a subnet I need to reclaim showing up as my VMS server. How can I find out where this IP address is configured in VMS. We are running OpenVMS/AXP V8.2 on a <COMPAQ AlphaServer DS20E 500 MHz> with DECnet/AXP V5.12-1 & TCP/IP V5.5-ECO1. The IP address is not the same as the Host IPs for either of my Alphas. Any help woudl be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
DWatson7

VMS uses a utility called UCX. Type UCX at the command line. At that point, use the command "Show interface". That should give you the information that you're looking for. You can then exit the UCX utility by typing EXIT.

DWatson7,

From your description, I am not sure that there is anything to do on your OpenVMS system.

What utility are you using to determine that "I have an IP address that exists in a subnet that I need to reclaim ..."?

Robert "Bob" Gezelter,
