Unscheduled Client Backup

Do ArcServe have a client to allow me to send a list of files and/or directorys to be backed up. I would like, under progam control, to build a list of directorys/and or files, specify a backup type (full, incremental, ..) and submit the request to ArcServe from my client server or workstation. The ArcServe client would then perform the backup and ship my files off to the ArcServe backup server.
I currently using Legato but would like to switch to ArcServe.
