Unresolved FP Forms problems

I have been trying to get FP form to function on my website for months now. I probably have about 10 different 'test' forms on 5 different domains. My hosting co. has not been able to resolve the issue and say it is in my code. However, I cannot determine the problem and only get the message about extensions being installed (but yet my host indicates they ARE installed).
Is there anyone out there that could figure this out if I gave more info?

I've tried form results to a file in .cvs format. I've tried a cgi script. Nothing.

When hitting submit on the form it takes one to /_derived/nortbots.htm page and a msg about extensions, however like I said my host says extensions are installed and that others on the same server are not having the problem. I can't figure out what is wrong.

If you would provide a URL for one or two form pages, we could take a look.

Keep in mind, if you transfer your form page via FTP, this will break the extensions and necessitate a reinstall.

In the meantime, reinstall the extensions, empty your browser cache and recheck the form. Also, if you look at the page source after that and see _derived nortbots in the initial form tag, this is an indication, the extensions are likely at fault. If the extensions are operating properly, you should see the shtml reference instead in the source code.

Hope I have been of some help,

Thank you very much for the reply.
I published my page directly from FP. I've re-installed extensions several times via my host's CP. My host has re-installed as well.
Here are some of the 'test' forms I have been at. A couple of these I do for others.
I have several more that I've tried. I got an email one to work, but I don't want an email form since not everyone has a mail program. A couple are created using cgi.
Thanks again for your help. I am really stuck on this one.

The first form displays the _derived nortbots as I mentioned.
action="_derived/nortbots.htm This form also displays the "FrontPage Run-Time Component Page" Both of these point to missing extensions.

The second form appears to be submitting to Cgi, however, it is attempting to sent to a sub folder as well. Since this is sending to Cgi rather than the FP form handler via the webbots, it is hard to say if this page in question is malfunctioning because of the extensions.

action="

Form three once again has the _derived nortbots reference and it also displays the [FrontPage Save Results Component] message which can occur as a result of extensions or form properties. It also results in the "FrontPage Run-Time Component Page" indicating the extensions once again.

You have said you are publishing with FrontPage. Are you sure you are publishing to http location? If you had used FTP previously, FP will sometimes default to ftp:// Take a look at the publish path to be sure.

Also, how about a URL for the working form? And. is this on the same server or different one.

I am curious if you could attempt this.

Sign up for a free space at You would need to enable the extensions before publishing, but you could see if one of the forms will work there.

Additionally I have had problems myself occasionally when I only enter email or file but then it will work if I submit to both email and file.

If the host actually has a built in Cgi form handler, you could build with FrontPage, select Send to other: and follow host directions for submitting to script

Side note: Make sure the pages in question have the extensions enabled.

Enabling Extensions on Page:

In FrontPage 2000 & 2002:

Tools >> Page Options >> Compatiblity and check "Enabled with Microsoft Server Extensions"

In 2003:

Tools >> Options >> Authoring and check "Browse-time Web Components"

Hope I have been of some help,
