I am having problems with my iPod after I installed SP2 to XP Pro. I keep getting a "Unrecognized USB Device" error. According to Microsoft, when SP2 is installed, fixcss.exe leaves some junk in the registry that messes with the USB enumeration.

"the FixCSS.exe tool does not delete the temporary subkeys in registry keys"

Anyone know how to delete these and what files I need to delete? I am not too familiar with editing the registry.

Here is the website that explains my problem. (I think)

iPod is not a normal registered component of Windows so in theory you could search thru all entries for 'ipod' and safely delete any lines you find - with luck you might be rid of those dead lines - however you might need to remove i-Tunes in case it also uses this name.

Perhaps another 'tekki' here should add their 2 pence to this subject before you start deleting lines though...
