unrecognized database formate

does anyone know what this is all about?

I have done a db in access xp and saved it for access 97..... i sent it to my client and he gets unrecognized database formate when trying to open it?

You can't create a db in Access XP and save it as an Access '97 db. I believe if you are using Access XP but keep your database format to Access 2000, you can save it as Access 97. Haven't tried it though.
