I have a user that is showing 2 unread messages in his Junk mail folder. If you look in Junk mail it is empty.

I went to View All and looked at just unread messages and they do not show up.

I tried to compact the databse from the users workspace. Nothing. I then went to the command line on the server and ran Load fixup \mail\user1.nsf -f

It executed but no change.

Suggestions?

Try removing the cache file and restarting Notes:

- exit Notes
- remove file CACHE.NDK from the Notes/data folder
- restart Notes

Good luck,

Darn.

It didn't work. I removed the Cache.ndk file and the messages are still showing up.

FYI, I opened the persons mailbox on my workspace and see the same thing.

ARe these also not showing up in the "All Documents" view like in your other post? Is this the same user? Are they using a local replica or working directly on the server?

They are not showing up in My Documents.

On the Server version.

This is a known bug about which you can find a lot discussions in other Notes forums. We also have users that experience this phenomenon from time to time. The counter simply is wrong - there are no unread mails available. The only solution that gets rid of the problem is as far as I know: I inform my users to simply select Edit, Unread Marks, Mark all Read from the menu bar and this sets the counter back to zero and solves the problem.
Hope this helps :)

Well. In the meantime since the problem arose, a restart was done. The counter has reset itself.
