Situation:
WinXP (SP2), Outlook2k3 (Office 2k3 Std), and Exchange 2k3 (not that this should matter)
User has e-mail set to view in groups by date. When set to sort ascending by date, unread e-mail shows up on the list. When set to sort descending by date, unread e-mail MAY show up on the list. She states that this is occasional and annoying, but she can usually find the unread e-mails by reversing the sort order.
No filters set up, and conversations are NOT threaded. I want to see if anyone has seen this one before because it it pretty unique in my book.

Anything odd in the view/Current View menu? (Assuming this isnt included in any 'filtering' that you mentioned )

Nope, only the standard. View>Arrange By shows Date, and Show in Groups checked. Current View shows Messages checked. That's pretty much it. I know Outlook proper shows all messages unless filtered under Custom settings, which are at the defaults for the program. I'm kind of grasping at straws here, because it just doesn't logically follow...
