unqualified host name

Hi! Can somebody help me with the error message that i have encountered. I configured syslog.conf so as to log any messages the system will receive. I refresh the syslogd daemon and after which i have recieved a syslog error thru my mail. When i checked on the errorlog file, i got the following error message.

Apr 2 13:59:13 gundina sendmail[22198]: My unqualified host name (hostname) unknown; sleeping for retry

Apr 2 13:59:12 gundina sendmail[7750]: unable to qualify my own domain name (gu
ndina) -- using short name

How am i going to resolve this error? thanks for the help

Open your /etc/hosts file and put a '.' after your hostname. (The one sendmail uses).
