I get message
sendmail[12345]: My unqualified host name (ABCSUN.) unknown
;sleeping for retry
sendmail{12345]: unable to qualify my own domain name (ABCSUN.) -- using short name

System applications are running fine. What are these messages alerting me to?

Thanks

Hi,
The system starts up the sendmail service at boot time. This service as the name suggests is used to send and receive mails from the server. This service checks for the domain name configuration for the server and if it finds that no domain name has been assigned to it then it returns the message as unqualified hostname. If u are not using this mail utility of server then u need not worry about the messages.u can close this service by giving the command:
/etc/init.d/sendmail stop (from root id)
I hope this helps u.....
