I have a MXe running MCD 4.0 SP1.

We had a T1 line connected to a SX2000 at a different site. The T1 line and the SX2000 has been disconnected and id like to learn how to resolve the Alarm.

Category Name = Digital Links
Alarm Level = Major
Total = 4
Unavailable = 50%
Minor Threshold = 26
Major Threshold = 50
Critical Threshold = 75

Any help with the process to remove the alarm (which forms, in which order and what i need to adjust) would be great.

thanks

To just remove the alarm you could set the alarm threshold via maintenance commands

set threshold digital trunks 60 75 90
(values above are roughly equivelent to before)

Removing the trunks completely would be recommended and involves about 10 forms that need to be cleared in order. This list is off the top of my head so take it as a guideline.

Remove ARS dialed digits that reference routes to the old trunks
Remove routes
Remove route specific COR's and Digit Modifications if exist
remove trunk group
remove trunks
remove digital link assignment
remove digital link descriptor (optional?)
remove NSU/T1 module programming

Occam's Razor - All things being equal, the simplest solution is the right one.

remember you will need to busy out trunks before deleting them
command busy <plid> e.g. 6 1 2 1

As for masking the alarm the best way is to enter command show stat alarm
this will show all alarms and at what percentage it is being triggered
e.g. digital link assignment may show 2 in system 1 missing with 50% unavailable creating a major alarm you will see the trigger points for the alarm catorgories e.g. minor -<nil> major 0% and critical 100% so to mask this alarm you need to enter command set thresh digi link n 51 100 this will just mask the current alarm but will not mask any future real alarms
