Has anyone found a successful way to unpin ALL items from Start? I'd like to do this when setting up new computers on Windows 10 if possible, b/c otherwise, I'm basically doing the same thing manually, and then pinning the few apps to the start menu that seem to make sense for our users.

I did find this discussion that mentioned a Powershell script to do some of it, but it doesn't sound complete:

Thanks for any thoughts

Thank you SO SO much! That's an excellent read. I wish I had found it sooner. Guess I should've just gone ahead and posted the question sooner. ;)

FYI, I don't think that one still gives the full solution either. From the evidence posted in the blog, this does not unpin all apps from Start. What I'd prefer is to simply "hit a button" to unpin ALL apps from Start, and then I don't mind manually adding the few I think may be helpful to the users. Regardless, that's still an excellent read to help understand the back-end of how it works.

What you need to watch out for is the MS updates - they reinstall everything you have uninstalled.

Yeah, that's what I thought I noticed so far. So annoying. I'm already doing this over and over b/c so many computers.

MS release their patches on Tuesdays. Check on Wednesday.
