Hi,

I have a problem with umount commande on SOLARIS system, I want to unmount a file system in order to remove it I got the the following situation :

1- I can directely remove the directory attached to the file system. (I create the directory may this is the Pb )

2- when I try to unmount the FS it told me that the FS is busy which is not true.

Could you help me to solve this Pb

Thnaks a lot

Are you sure that the file system is not busy? As root, run: fuser -c /file system

This will list all of the processes running out of the filesystem if any exist. If there are any, you must kill them before the unmount will succeed. You can run fuser -ck /file system on the filesystem to easily kill any lingering processes.

If no processes exist, or the dir was removed (attempted) while the filesystem was mounted, you next step may be a reboot. That is bad and there may be a better way, but the reboot may end up saving you time.

HTH,
Jason
