I am helping the DBMS group upgrade Oracle on some test machines which requires new oracle kernel extentions. /etc/loadext -u /etc/<old_ext> unloads the old extentions then you can load the new extentions. Only when I run the unload I get "Cannot unload old extention". Is there any way I can unload the old extention with out rebooting the box? Rebooting isn't a good option when we move this upgrade to production.

Thanks in advance.

-u : to unload the kernel ext.(<kernex object>)
-q : to query the kernel ext.(<kernex object>)
-v : to show the kernel ext.(<kernex object>) version
