I wanted to be cutting edge, front line, latest and greatest by downloading IE6.0. Now I can't access my server at work for Outlook email, and I've lost functionality with my county's web-based Multiple Listing Service. I've been told by tech support from each that IE6.0 is the problem and they're looking into why. Meantime, I try and download a previous version from MS website and get a "Setup detects a newer version of IE. Setup can not continue." How can I get back to IE5.01 with service pack until my server at work and MLS database can catch up? Thank you in advance!

What are the error messages?
Are you sure javascript is enabled?

Go to Tools>InternetOptions, click the Privacy tab and choose "Accept all coookies"

Why 5.01 rather than 5.5? Are you missing plugin support?

I'd suggest a look at Axcel's site here:

and here for Outlook information:

I'd appreciate you posting back what your experience is as I am at 5.01 also and was thinking of going to 6. I've heard both good and bad experiences with IE6, so it may be awhile before I go, but would appreciate any info you can give. :)I PhiloVance

Have you tried navigating to Windows Update site, ask for products update, then ask for revision history..Sometimes they offer an uninstall...(a longshot)
