Unlimited Licences

hi, ive been sent teh new Novell licences, smartcert1 - NW5.1 server + unlimited CLA / MLA license which downloads a unlimited server & user licence for Netware 5.1.
I've run NW administrator and loaded the new license files, they showup in adminstrator as unlimited units.

OK, the sys is fine untill i reach the unit limt of the other license certificates installed then the server throws up the message 'unable to obtain a connection license unit'.

the new licences show as Novell+NetWare 5 SCL+510 / 5 Server+510 and 0 units are in use.

Iv'e checked the 'assignents' and they r the same as the old licences, however the OEM id is '1000' where as the old ones show up as '69' - could this be the error?

Or do the new unlimited license's replace all previous ones, hence del them? - i don't want 2 do this as if it doesn't work there will be no units avalable at all

You are correct- delete the other licenses. Also, do *not* assign the MLA licenses to a server, or other servers won't be able to get them.

Finally, MLA's can be installed multiple times, so you can put them in OU's which are contained in a local replica for each server, if needed.

I installed mine in the O, then in each geographic (replicated) OU.

You can purchase the CLA / MLA Licensing for NetWare Servers from Novell or one of its Distributers.
