Unkown Error

Osx - cs2
I get an Unknown Error everytime I Save as an .ai.
Also If I copy a file in illustrator to photoshop I get an error.
"The Operation cannot complete because of an Unkown error. [CANF]" and I get a photoshop error "Could not cmplete the Paste command because of an error getting data from the clipboard or another appliaction. I get the error if I paste in pixels or smart object.
I tried to reinstall everything, trashed everthing including files in the library. Not sure what's going on.

go to illustrator - preferences
than to - file handling and clipboard

- uncheck "enable version cue"
- check use low resolution prox...
- uncheck copy as pdf
- check AICB
- chceck preserve paths
- uncheck preserve appearance

you can experiment with those settings.
I have it like that and it works.

Is this a new install of AI and PSD or were they on yur machine and just start acting up?

If a new install, what type of machine are you using? Since you referred to library, I'm assuming it's a mac, but what kind?

Also, have you downloaded updates from Adobe. The latest for AI cs2 would be 12.01.

The most frequent cause for the "Unknown Error" is a corrupt font. Try saving a document without any type in it, and see what happens.
