i have recently started supporting 3 nortel baystak 470-48t switches, the previous supported password protected the kit but did not tell anyone what they are, is there a way of logging in wo reset the password without factory defaulting the switch
Your options depend on the exact model (age) of the switch. Some older switches have a default password that can be entered within a few seconds of boot, and I know Nortel can generate passwords based on the system MAC address (if you have support) - depends on how much keeping the current config intact is worth to you.
