I recently upgraded my PC from Window 98 to XP. I use the Windows XP built-in zip utility. Everytime I get an email from Unix with an attachment file the file type is unknown ($Type). So I cannot double-click on the attachment like I used to on Windows 98. It does not recognize zip, txt or csv file extensions. If I save the file and then double-click on it, it works Ok. I use Netscape. Is it a setting that needs to be set on Netscape?

I use Netscape 4.79, and there are file associations within Netscape. On my Netscape this is under Preferences > Navigator > Applications. You may need to change the application used to open these file types.

Alternately, it may work to reinstall Netscape, and it should pick up the new file associactions.
