Unknown Error message - W8503

w8503 Failed to initialize the connection. Make sure VI is configured properly"

Anyone seen this before? Backup seems to have ran successfully.

Brightstor 11.5SP2 on Win2K3 server.

Assuming that you run a backup job of remote computers with the Client Agent installed; you may try this:

#Modify the backup job and check - for all applicable servers - highlight server ---> right click ---> go to Modify Agent and uncheck "Attempt to use VI protocol". This is intended for SAN environments only.
