Hi all,
I have an Arcserve 2000 SP4 central backup system on Windows 2000 SP3 system. Backing up Solaris 7 Unix servers using uagent. Restores fine except the file ownership doesn't go along. Arcserve tech support site says to make sure NIS is working properly (we aren't using that), and make sure original /etc/passwd file is being used so the uid/username matches are correct. They are correct on my boxes and I even tried using the one from the backup tape.
Any ideas anyone?
One thing that's different is that I am actually trying to restore to a different box with a different name, but has the same users with the same uid's. Does this make a difference?
Thanks,
