If you have already got a version of unix on your PC (what version?), what are you wanting to get from the HP box? The / and \ shouldn't be an issue if you just want to ftp some files from the server to the PC. Perhaps some clarification of what you're trying to do is required.
I installed a Java 2 Runtime Environment ver. 1.3.1 on my pc
I need to install this application -> SIT-"switch interface terminal" found in my HP UX server. (I need this application to run on my PC)
I've already created the SIT directories on my PC.
Problem: how can get the file application to run? sure i can ftp each files and directories to my PC, but can i get my PC to read those file when they all use / sign from unix?
