Hello All,

I am trying to provide security layer on the unix server side.

There are two questions I am interested in solving:
1)Would it advisable to periodically change the account of each user on the server. If this can be done by a script, please provide a source.
2)Prompt the application user to change accounts password periodically.

I am more in favor of option 1.

Most Unixes have an option to automatically expire passwords after a certain amount of time. This will force users to change it when they log in.

Look at the man page for the command "passwd".
Code:
man passwd
