Hello.

I recently got one of our divisions connected to our server running Unix Sco Version 5.0.5. For the client machine to access the server i have to type in

route add 192.168.2.10 193.0.0.3

this is working fine but i would want the command to be executed automatically each time i switchon the server. wich file do i have to edit?

We have a file called S99route in /etc/rc2.d consisting of the route add default command required. You can create it if it doesn't exist. You can also use /etc/defaultrouter, but someone would have to confirm that for SCO. HTH.

I want to be good, is that not enough?

Create an executable shell script named /etc/rc2.d/S99route

Hope This Helps, PH.

Thank you guys. It has worked. one more thing i wanted to add machines with IP Addresses ranging from 192.168.2.1 to 192.168.2.40. is there a quicker way of doing it raher than adding many entries into the script?

You may try this:
route add -net 192.168.2 193.0.0.3
