unix process tracking

Hi

does unix keep track of the processes or programs it ran. can i check when my program last ran on the system.

any suggestions are welocme.

-- logs made by the program it self are missing.

on a simple unix installation there is just the logfile of a process, which records data about itself (last start, last stop, last event)

if you are running some accounting software (on Solaris there is sar, not sure there is something similar on HP-UX, but guessing yes, there is) or some monitoring tools (we are using a HP OpenView subprogram named "Performance Manager"), these tools usually track and account the processes.
