At one of our remote sites on our lan we have a printer setup in jetadmin to print.

however sometimes it decides to go "pear shaped" an decide to print multiple copies. originally i thought it was an
networking issue. Below is the mesg churned out to root:

Message from lp on oracle (???) [ Fri Nov 30 09:40:52 ] ...
Subject: Problem with printer labrpts

The printer labrpts has stopped printing for the reason given below.
Fix the problem and bring the printer back on line.
Printing has stopped, but will be restarted in a few minutes;
issue an enable command if you want to restart sooner.
Unless someone issues a change request

lp -i labrpts-6992 -P ...

to change the page list to print, the current request will be reprinted from
the beginning.

The reason(s) it stopped (multiple reasons indicate repeated attempts):

exec exit fault<EOT>

PLEASE CAN ANYONE OUT THERE HELP ME!!!

Not sure, but it could be the interface has a problem or your network is a little flakey from time to time. Alternatively, perhaps the file contains some sort of control code which forces an exit? Can you print a plain text file without this behaviour manifesting itself? Sorry this isn't much help.
