hi folks,

need your help... i am not really a unix person... i tried printing a 180 character report using this command:

lp -d<printername> -oc -olandscape <filename.ext>

for this command, it will only print until 165 columns. is there any unix parameters or settings that we can compressed the report further.... our printer is hp8150dn and our unix server is hpux 11...

your immediate help is highly appreciated...

thanks,
volts

a lot will depend on the printer defination file, but you could try this:

# lp -d (printer) -ofp8 -olandscape (filename)

the -ofp is for font pitch, you might try different numbers to see if it will get small enough for your needs.
