I have a Sun machine that I orignally configured with an IP address, later I needed to change the IP address so I used the standard:

ifconfig hme0 111.111.111.111 netmask 255.255.255.0 up

That solves the change but if I need to reboot the machine the interface changes to the original address. What is the command to change the interface so that the new IP is the default?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!!

Change the default entry in /etc/hosts

Change the entries in /etc/defaultrouter & /etc/routes if you've changed subnets. TandA
