Is there one?

I'm trying to ftp a 7 gig file from NT to Unix and it seems to bomb at about 2 gigs. Is this a limitation? Is there a setting anywhere that I can change to get this whole file?

Thanks

This depend on the flavor of *nix. Do a
Code:
 man ulimit
on your unix target machine to get more info.

Hope This Help

Kenndot,
This depends on what flavor of Unix you are using. 2Gb might be a limit with the OS, the ftp client, how the Unix filesystem was created, or it might just be a maximum filesize limit on your user id.

The first question is what flavor of unix are you transfering to (including version [i.e. Solaris 7 vs Solaris 9])?

it's an HP unix box, i'm going to try that though, thank you

I'm sure you've already checked this, but is there enough room on the destination partition to store the 7 gig file?

Hi again,

Still having the same problem only with simpler files and smaller sizes...

I'm connecting thru ftp to a unix box, typing in a command
ls *.837

every time it gets cut off at 997 filenames, there are more there... is there a limitation here? some setting that I don't know about?
